As mentioned here, the official release note of OpenOffice.Org 2.4.1 is already announced today. And for openSUSE users, you’ll be able to get it by adding STABLE, EXTRAS, and UNSTABLE OpenOffice.Org Repositories to YaST Software Repositories–you can also perform this using Zypper. After that just hint YaST Software Management (from YaST window that already opened previously) and go to Filter section then select Search option, and then type: openoffice. You can see (again) the available update packages are colored by blue. Just easily click your right mouse button in packages list section and select from menu appeared, All in this list > Update if newer version available. To download and install the packages, you can just enter the Accept button then.
In the Change Log section, we can also find some important description of package selected (in the current version), see the image above.
It’s Wonderful to see our software packages are in stable state, as we know bug fixes and additional features usually come into the core of those packages. And how lucky i am, choosing this Linux distribution that always keep building the last stable packages to their users (and without taking time to get them from repositories
), and finally using them in our daily computer life. The world looks more beautiful because this power of Free/Open Source Movement. I’m always impressed of all their works!
Now, I’m getting OOo 2.4.1.5-2.2 tonight.. ![]()
