openSUSE 11.2: ATI/AMD Catalyst™ Linux Display Driver v.10.5

Many tutorials on how to install the driver have been available to be followed, so I’ll try to avoid many repotition of them. Now I just want to remind you about the newest version, ATI Catalyst™ Display Driver v. 10.5 *, that has already come.

Just update your driver to get the improvements and (maybe) bug-fixes, see the release notes for it.

*) For the ATI RADEON (9500 and later), MOBILITY RADEON (M10 and later), RADEON XPRESS IGP and FireGL (Z1 and later) series.

The installation of this driver on openSUSE 11.2 is relatively easy, but the one who wants the newest version should do with the hard way. Actually it is not so hard, only typing several commands in console like it was on openSUSE 11.1. (more…)
