Here is the steps:
- Plug the device.
- Mount it through Device Notifier Widget.
- Eject it (ignore the failure message), You’ll see the KNetworkManager icon changes, from ‘unplugged net-device’ to ‘mobile-phone’ .[0]
- Click it, and select Manage Connections / Mobile Broadband, and then fill the necessary configurations.
- Click the desired connection through KNetworkManager in the system tray.[1]
Have fun!
[0] This feature is still in the developer discussion wheter which is a good way should be choosen to swicth the device automatically from media-mode to modem-mode (ejecting the device or through usb_modeswitch), especially for incoming openSUSE 11.3 release.
[1] Some users complain about hang on Waiting for authorization, just disconnect and then connect it again (known bug?).

And for openSUSE users, you’ll be able to get it by adding STABLE, EXTRAS, and UNSTABLE OpenOffice.Org Repositories to YaST Software Repositories–you can also perform this using Zypper. After that just hint YaST Software Management (from YaST window that already opened previously) and go to Filter section then select Search option, and then type: openoffice. You can see (again) the available update packages are colored by blue. Just easily click your right mouse button in packages list section and select from menu appeared, All in this list > Update if newer version available. To download and install the packages, you can just enter the Accept button then. (more…)
