Many tutorials on how to install the driver have been available to be followed, so I’ll try to avoid many repotition of them. Now I just want to remind you about the newest version, ATI Catalyst™ Display Driver v. 10.5 *, that has already come.
Just update your driver to get the improvements and (maybe) bug-fixes, see the release notes for it.
*) For the ATI RADEON (9500 and later), MOBILITY RADEON (M10 and later), RADEON XPRESS IGP and FireGL (Z1 and later) series.
The installation of this driver on openSUSE 11.2 is relatively easy, but the one who wants the newest version should do with the hard way. Actually it is not so hard, only typing several commands in console like it was on openSUSE 11.1. (more…)

I’m certainly happy when this issue is already fixed starting from openSUSE 11.3 Milestone #5, and now I have another computer, ASUS EEEPC 1201T netbook. I installed both openSUSE 11.3 Milestone #7 (zypper dup from openSUSE 11.2) and openSUSE 11.2 in other partition in this computer, and found the WLAN device did not work yet.

I’ve been using this HSDPA USB modem since it was openSUSE 11.1 (and it’s tested also on openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 8), no other easy way except through wvdial. Hopefully it will be easier using KnetworkManager-KDE4 on openSUSE 11.2 in final release stage. [updated: October 28] It is now OK to use KNetworkManager as mobile Internet connection manager (i did not know when this feature’s announced for the first time tough).
It’s said here nicely how to use it on openSUSE 11.1, now I’m just taking a little workaround on openSUSE 11.2 RC1.
Here are the steps to make an Internet connection with this ZTE MF626 Mobile USB modem on openSUSE 11.2 RC1: (more…)
